Barcia Ready to Rock 2013

It's not surprise to hear that Justin Barcia entered the Monster Energy Cup this weekend with a plan to win. His first priority wasn't to get a feel for the 450 or to get to know his competition. He wanted to take home all three wins and, in turn, the Monster Million.

That didn't happen for him, but he still managed to grab one race win and the first place prize of $100,000. For Barcia, the entire night was an experience that both helped his confidence and taught him what he has to work on before the 2013 season rolls around in a little over two months.

"There’s definitely a lot more to do. I feel comfortable on the bike, but I know I have a lot more improvement to make."

The wild child ran into plenty of situations, including battling with another known agressive rider, Mike Alessi, and losing the last race due his decision on when to take the joker lane. Aside from the infamous Vegas dirt, the joker lane was Barcia's least favorite aspect of the entire race.
