JGR Definitely Looking for Second Rider
Word's been circling as to whether or not the JGR Yamaha team will be hiring a second rider to accompany Justin Brayton on a 450. Some fans said that, logistically, the team couldn't afford to hire another rider after hiring James Stewart last year and not getting the results they wanted. Others say a second rider is their only option.
So when Vurb Moto got a chance to talk with the team's owner, Coy Gibbs, they asked him what the deal was. Here's the best part, Coy said that there will be a second rider, but he gave no hint as to who it may be. What I'm thinking is that the second rider won't be a big name. In the terms of Matthes, it'll be a double or triple. Ever since the downfall with James and Kyle Regal, it's understandable that the team wants to go after someone who will be consistent for all the races. And by consistent, I don't mean consistently horrible.

Gavin Faith took James Stewart's place at JGR for the last few rounds of supercross
while he was injured. Could Faith be back full-time in 2013?
Coy also said, "You never know what's going to happen." I'm taking that as a hint. To me, he's saying that their second rider is an unexpected one. Here's a thought. Did anyone ever consider that they might bring Gavin Faith back on the team? He stepped in for a couple of rounds at the end of the supercross season this year and, though he didn't exactly do spectacularly, he was riding on a completely foreign bike. Maybe with an entire off-season on the bike, we could see Faith get some top 10 time in the 450s.
All I know is that I can't be prepared for any news when it comes to the JGR Yamaha team. The past season has proved that they are completely unpredictable. All we can possibly do now is speculate until they announce who will fill the spot.
