This Just In- Fast Guys Also Fast in Joker Lane

Thanks to the guys at Vurb Moto, the addition of the Joker Lane at the MEC didn't appear to hinder the guys who, you know, were the regular fast guys. The lane itself did contribute to victory as Eli Tomac took it early in the third moto and caught up to leader Justin Barcia. So when Barcia was forced to take it, Tomac went by easy-peasy with no issues and into the lead. Had Barcia already been through it, well the fight would've been on.

In Vurb's extensive research, they looked at the segment two times and the Joker Lane seemed to add about four seconds to a segment  when it was all said and done. Or about 14 if you were Christian Craig who went down in the lane in the third moto.

So the non-amazing stat is that if you were fast on the track, you were fast in the Joker Lane which shouldn't amaze anyone really. Still, the lane was an interesting addition to the track and for all practical purposes, it worked.
